Helping Agencies Wow New Clients, Fast

Creative agency BCF looks to WP Engine for help with mission-critical projects on a tight deadline.

Industry: Creative agency

Site: www.bcfagency.com

Challenge:Quickly spin up an internal marketing portal for Orangetheory Fitness, a global fitness franchise.

Solution: BCF used WP Engine to build a WordPress multisite where Orangetheory franchise owners could easily find marketing collateral, analytics reporting, and share assets with one another.

Results: The site was built in less than 10 days, BCF’s new client was happy and franchises began using it immediately.

BCF is a full-service advertising and interactive agency specializing in developing and marketing emotionally engaging travel, hospitality, and lifestyle brands. The agency is headquartered in Virginia Beach, VA and has multiple clients in the mid-Atlantic and Colorado/Rocky Mountains regions.

Our experience working with WP Engine was just a billion times better than working with anyone else. We had crazy demands and timeframes that needed to be met and they did everything we asked. We never would have gotten that level of service somewhere else.

THE CHALLENGE

Virginia Beach-based marketing and communications firm BCF has been helping businesses transform their brands for nearly four decades. While their client list includes a wide variety of companies across multiple industries, the firm specializes in lifestyle and fitness brands. When Orangetheory Fitness, a global fitness franchise, selected BCF as one of its brand partners, the staff at BCF wanted to do everything they could to make their new client happy.

The ask was simple enough: spin up a website where Orangetheory franchise owners could easily access social media and other advertising content, as well as share collateral with one another and get access to analytics reporting. The scale of the project however, and the timeframe it needed to be completed in, added another layer of complexity.

“There are a couple thousand franchise locations and it’s growing. When we set out to build the portal, we had no idea what to anticipate as far as how many franchises we’d take on,” said Jessica Stratton, the Interactive Project Management Supervisor at BCF. “So, we needed to build out the portal quickly and then host it with a very scalable solution.”

THE SOLUTION

BCF turned to WP Engine and work on the portal commenced immediately. BCF used WordPress Multisite, a feature which allows users to create a network of subsites within a single install of WordPress, to create a digital experience that fit Orangetheory’s specifications perfectly.

“It all happened in about 10 business days,” Stratton said. “It was a lot to ask, but we got immediate and very helpful service.”

With the site rolled out and operational, BCF was able to solidify its partnership with Orangetheory and franchise owners were able to start using the site.

“We were really pleased with the solution WP Engine provided, the timeframe they were able to accommodate as well as the ongoing service and support we continue to get from our dedicated WP Engine team,” Stratton said.

The Results

Since the site has gone live, Stratton said the flexibility it offers has been a great way to attract new users and onboard additional franchises.

"We love the solution WP Engine provided because it offers a lot of flexibility,” Stratton said. “Being able to get help and expert advice from WordPress experts is exactly what we were looking for.”

Stratton also said her and her team were impressed by the service and support they received from WP Engine, which she said she didn’t think she’d be able to find elsewhere.

“Our experience working with WP Engine was just a billion times better than working with anyone else. We had crazy demands and timeframes that needed to be met and they did everything we asked. We never would have gotten that level of service somewhere else.”

Moving forward, Stratton hopes to onboard additional franchises and build out even more functionality for the portal.

“We definitely want to bring in real-time data, as well as explore the possibility of adding a chatbot,” Stratton said. “Because the platform integrates easily with other technologies, those are certainly real possibilities that we’ll be exploring soon.“
