thunder::tech, an integrated marketing agency founded in 1999, builds and maintains WordPress sites for clients including Rotary Solutions, an automotive service equipment company, and the Cleveland Institute of Art (CIA).

The agency uses Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) as a standard part of its build process, relying on config-driven content modeling rather than custom code for every WordPress site it delivers.

  • The ChallengeMigrating thousands of pages without losing structure

    thunder::tech was tasked with designing and building new sites for both Rotary Solutions and CIA, migrating thousands of existing posts and pages, and maintaining their relationships. 

  • The SolutionContent modeling, automated with ACF

    thunder::tech built a custom automation process on top of ACF’s content modeling, programmatically mapping old content structures to new ones and building an HTML-to-CSV-to-ACF import pipeline for a 1,000+ page product catalog. For CIA, ACF enabled dynamic image management, ensuring consistency across thumbnails and social media.

The automation shortened migration and editing work from months to weeks, gave both clients real-time editing access without compromising design, and built a flexible foundation that supports future updates without re-architecting the sites. Across both sites, 472 ACF fields, 74 flexible content components, and 25 custom post types were built.
